This technique improves the circulation and reduces tension in the muscle. If used as part of relaxation massage, it should be followed by effleurage.

Procedures: Upright posture with softly bent knee. Relaxed wrists and hand with loose fingers. Elbows relaxed and close to body. Keep head and chest up. Speed is not as important as rhythm. Maintain stroke for a duration of at minimum 10 seconds (count ten slowly) in any given body area in order to obtain maximum effectiveness.
